Sections
The workshop is divided to five sections. Both has its own topic.
EcoDesign
Interdisciplinary approach of design, instead of the traditional design categories.
Three main categories of ecodesign:
Organizing the laws of nature, geometric shapes, and visual culture, we can learn a language of forms, which can help our orientation in fine arts, architecture and design.
It also allows us to be creative part of our world.
Section leader: Vladimir Monostori
Three main categories of ecodesign:
- Form. Ecomorphology: what you can see, feel and touch. Shapes, materials, colours, ecoaesthetics.
- Impact. Ecofunction, ecoeconomy, sustainability and positive impacts of design on our future.
- Context. Natural and artificial environment, culture, level of innovation, geographical situation, ethics.

Philosophy in Design
need as a system and as a process
The main issues of organic philosophy. How can we understand the world as a process? Why is static thinking more common?
The purpose of this course is to understand the origins and actualities of our approach to the world, originating in modernism. How does this way of thinking bring about the need for change?
The metaphysical approach we introduce as an alternative, is called organic or process philosophy, according to Alfred N. Whitehead. The course will show the theory’s living manifestations through examples in everyday life, and finally inspire the participants to express their knowledge and understanding in forms of design.
Section leader: Attila Simonfi
Automotive Design
New ways of transportation
One of the reasons of the economical and environmental crisis is the overdesigned product systems providing our mobility. How can design make new alternatives in this situation? What kinds of materialistic and structural, systematic suggestions can design come up with? New objects, renewing shape, energy consumption, human factor, new functional situations.
Section leader: Tibor Szentpéteri
Catastrophy Design
Minimal design, as a choice
One of the main weaknesses of traditional modern economy, instead of understanding the connection between demands, environment and needs, is to act aggressively, and manipulate the subservience of suppliers. Not reflecting on demands outside the economy is one of the main motives for overproduction and the defection of real and monetary economy. Market psychology, ad marketing and manipulating of demands, and the combinations of the previous are commonly used to solve problems in connection with overproduction. One of the most conspicuous manifestation of these is styling and design. A successful designer should be aware of the mentioned specialities.

Eco Media Design
New ways of visual media design
What turned us aside from the fundamental virtues? Self control or tabula rasa? This section’s topics are the purpose, avail, and significance of visual communication. We will also discuss the difference between professional and amateur work, in context of the social crisis.
Research of visual characteristics of information. Displaying and application possibilities from different views. Recognition of ecosemantic laws of organic, geometric and cultural forms.
