Philosophy in Design
An answer to the actual crisis
What we now call global crisis, in fact, the five different global areas manifested:
- Values (social) crisis - we was loss the stability of the values become from the traditional human (self) and world understanding.
- Energy crisis - the exploitation of fossil energy (oil, natural gas, coal mined) is not able to serve the modern energy industry.
- Monetary crisis – in the financial economy the money speculations without real economical found resulted a global crisis.
- Ecological crisis - Release of carbon dioxide, global warming, ozone erosion, melting of the Arctic climate is changing all the earth.
- Agricultural crisis – from the ecological crisis only one step to arrive the instability of food production.
Not heavy to recognize that there is not a untouched area from the viewpoint of the whole world. It defines the measure of the crisis, that these crisis areas in what kind of measure, and inside a what kind of time interval manifest itself, and how much the single manifestos coincide. It is not possible to avoid this crisis already because there is present already. We have to prepare ourselves for this situation and we have to moderate it with all of our strength. Will not be if this crisis shows his strength residing in his opportunities neither just, neither tactful. We are on the threshold of the largest crisis of the written human history according to the most optimal estimates. Neither his extension, neither we do not know about similar one in his gravity.
First of the entire most important one, that let us understand it this crisis his reasons and his process driving until today. Since it is a man and all imprints sink up from the human consciousness for his act and represents this on a final row, because of this at the time of the search of the reasons obvious to talk about the crisis of the consciousness, and here to search the understanding, and the solution.
The designing creator like that, who there is as Prometheus tied up out to the present, – may be successful then only, beside all that, that gets ready technically, an identity formulated story wise is at his disposal, and if he feels his needs his timeliness on his leather. These two dots define that straight, which one to suspect allows the necessary future. We admire those who were good at good time on place, but only rarely make realize, that this not something gives- hoc the result of fatalism, but plan able, and in most cases the consequence of conscious foresight. Even so it looks like we are hard of hearing and looking selectively our environment and especially ourselves. This strange, always thinking on novelties, counting himself creative homo sapiens, who are you too. What you think how many designers live on Earth (6 billion) and who and what we want to maintain?
Be natural and know that you are part of nature, you've been always part of it!

One of the reasons of the economical and environmental crisis is the overdesigned product systems providing our mobility. How can design make new alternatives in this situation? What kinds of materialistic and structural, systematic suggestions can design come up with? New objects, renewing shape, energy consumption, human factor, new functional situations.

Catastrophy Design
Our walk of life and negative impact on environment cause more and denser natural catastrophes. Fulminal phenomenons have been escalating, even their locations are unpredictable. We're not prepared for these drastic changes and unpredicted, unexperienced phenomenons. (Recently in Hungary: incredible drynessand storms, tornado-strength gales.)Besides prevention and knowledge of local capabilites, designers' in situ intervention, quick constructive response which based on estimate of situation, would help a lot. Prefabricated, -manufactured help makes victims passive and nihilistic (tents, prefabricated houses, equipments, clothes, canned foods etc.). Many times help arrives late or disappear by corruption.
Section team's task is to design guidelines in simulated catastrophe which even practible for illiterate people to show victims how to help actively themself for survive and restart, in a designer's point of view. I point out self-help, which by active involvement occupy them, giving new meaning for survive.
